Just wanted to share. I was written today on Deviant art by a mod, possibly a former mod, for the Facebook fan page: www.facebook.com/pages/Bad-gir…

She wrote to say that while she, posting as *poison ivy*, had always tried to give artists credit on the pictures the page posts that others were not. She sited that after appealing to the other mods to give proper credit she was ignored and shared a link to an art piece of mine with no credit given.

This happens but I find to to be a shame because, while the support of the art is amazing, I believe the artists behind them deserve mention.I wrote the group on their page and on my particular piece and while they are continuing to post only some credits are being given and no changes have been made to existing un-credited posts on their page.

I am not sharing this in an effort to have the page flamed but so that people who recognize art work of their own can take whatever actions they see fit or so people can help the mods give credit to other artists people may recognize outside my knowledge.

Support Artists not just Art. <3

I find this same problem just about everywhere online. Tumblr, Pinterest, Photobucket, forums, Facebook, etc. Even here on DeviantArt - where there are people who will create accounts and treat it like a "collection" site and just post any and all art that they like, not even bothering to credit the original artists. It's been a problem for a long time and there needs to be more awareness about it. Artists get so little respect that people think any and all images posted online are theirs do with as they want and never even think about where the images come from nor think twice about the artist that should be 1) asked permission from first and 2) properly credited. The artist OWNS the images, it's a damned shame the artists get so little respect and consideration.
